First Day of Preschool

Monday, 9-7-11

First official day of preschool...what an assortment of emotions I felt today. I was so happy and thrilled that Amy was so excited to go to school. She was very excited and kept talking about it throughout the weekend. I was a bit apprehensive about how our good-bye would go. I also felt pretty sad that Amy is growing up so quickly. Although I love watching her grow into a little girl, I also am sad by how quickly it is going.

Amy was excited to take her lunch in her new Hello Kitty lunch box that she picked out along with her Hello Kitty water bottle!
Amy hanging up her coat & tote outside her classroom door. She also puts her lunch box & water bottle in the appropriate places as well.

Mrs. Roush, one of her teachers, greeting her. Each day, Mrs. Roush asks Amy if she would like to give her a high five, a hand shake, or a hug. Amy always loves to give hugs!!

Overall, the first morning went well. We both handled saying good-bye and no tears were shed...at least in front of each other! :) The morning turned out to feel extremely long for me. I was ready to go back and get her after a short time! I'm sure it didn't help that Nathan ended up taking an extra long nap, so I wasn't able to distract myself by giving him lots of attention and cuddles! When I picked her up, Amy was excited to tell me all about her day! I think we both were happy to see each other!!
