Snow Fun, Take 2

Saturday, 2-6-10

Another winter storm hit our area all day on Friday - it started snowing mid-morning and didn't stop until well into the evening. Amy enjoyed watching it snow from inside the house. She kept pointing outside and saying "snow." On Saturday, we tackled the big job of shoveling out from under 5-8 inches of snow (okay, I don't really know exactly how much snow we got other than a lot!!). Kurt started shoveling initially and then Amy & I went out to join him a little bit later. On Saturday, the sun was out and shining down on us, which made it a little more bearable to be outside. Amy even needed her sunglasses since it was so bright outside! This time, we "played" in the front yard/driveway since Kurt was shoveling the driveway - plus we couldn't get out our back screened in porch due to the huge snow drift outside the door! Amy was happy to get out some of her "summer" toys, i.e., shopping cart & lawn mower. We ventured closer to the snow, but she still wasn't really interested in actually getting in the snow or playing with it. At one point, she wanted to walk in the snow, but once we took a step, she changed her mind. Amy watched the neighbor kids play in the snow and initially showed some interest in playing as well, but then changed her mind. Weather forecast indicates that we are to get another winter storm on Tuesday, so she'll have yet another chance to play in the snow or at least go out to see it, though it's also predicted to be pretty chilly so we might just stay inside and watch it snow!!

The picture doesn't really do it justice - this was taken from inside sometime during the afternoon - this is how it looked for most of the day!
