Chocolate Cupcake!

Monday, 2-21-11

Friends brought us dinner to share with them one weekend in February. Along with a delicious dinner, they brought Amy a jumbo chocolate cupcake! My goodness, was she excited about that cupcake!! It was so big that she was able to eat some of it on three different occasions!! Amy still talks about Ms. Laurie & Mr. Phil bringing her a cupcake and how good that cupcake was!! As you can see by the pictures below, Amy really enjoys her cupcakes!! :)

Dishwasher/Swimming Pool

Monday, 2-14-11

I simply love watching Amy grow into a little person (though it's also a bit sad!!). She has such the imagination! Lately, she has used the dishwasher, when it's clean (and she always asks if the dishwasher is clean or not), as a swimming pool for her animals. She lines up her animals and then they "dive" into the pool. They "swim" around for a bit and then come out to rest. What the imagination!!

Three Weeks Old

Monday, 2-14-11

Time is going by so quickly. I'm late in getting these pictures up here and I feel like Nathan is already so much bigger now than when these pictures were taken. Nathan continues to be such a delight and we love having him in our family. He remains a really good baby. He eats about every three hours, including throughout the night. Although there are some mornings that I'm really tired, I just have so much happiness that it makes it all worth it! I want to stop time and try to enjoy all of these moments. I find myself stopping throughout the week to try & simply enjoy the moment as I know all too well that time doesn't stop. We are so blessed to have such a truly special and wonderful little guy in our family!!

Playing in the Snow

Sunday, 2-6-11

We have had massive amounts of snow and ice this winter (or maybe it just feels this way!). Just recently, we had several inches of ice and then had about 6 inches of snow on top of the ice. This is the first year that Amy has really enjoyed being outside in the snow. So, Daddy takes her out to play in the snow on the weekends. She enjoys walking in the snow...that is almost to her mid-calf. She also enjoys throwing snow balls, and really enjoys watching Daddy throw snow balls. She is so excited when she comes back in to tell me all about what she and Daddy did. Lately, she has been telling me, frequently, that "it's good packing snow" since she heard Daddy say that. They made a little snowman, though knocked it down before any pictures could be taken. I'm glad that Amy enjoys playing in the snow...I'm even more glad that Daddy takes her out in it so Mommy can stay inside the warm house! :)

Few Pictures

Wednesday, 2-2-11

So, I anticipate that I mainly will be putting pictures up on the blog without much commentary since I'm finding it difficult to get much of anything done! However, I will say that we simply love being a family of four!! We couldn't love Amy anymore and love watching her be so gentle with Nathan. Amy has been trying to figure out this huge adjustment and we've had a couple of rough patches, though I have no doubt that we will all adjust nicely. Nathan is a doll. We continue to feel so blessed to have him and are so happy that he is a part of our family. Nathan remains such a good baby and we praise God for this blessing.

Below are a few pictures from the first week of February.

Gifts for Amy/First Day Home

Friday, 1-28-11

Kurt, Nathan, & I arrived home late on Thursday evening. Nathan did awesome on the ride home...sleeping the entire way home!! When we arrived home, Grandma Murphy was anxiously waiting our arrival and couldn't wait to see her newest grandchild! Amy was sleeping when we arrived, although she woke up at one point. We didn't introduce her to Nathan until the following morning.

The next morning, Amy met Nathan. Amy thought he was okay, but was much more interested in the gifts that her little baby brother had brought her!
Amy was excited that Nathan brought her the laundry room for her doll house (which she has been asking for since Christmas!) and Snow White to go along with her other princess dolls, Sleeping Beauty and Tiana.

Nathan has been such a good baby. Our first full day at home was wonderful. Nathan doesn't get fussy unless he's hungry or has a dirty diaper. He is such a gift from God and we remain so thankful that he is in our family.
Amy reading to Nathan...I'm sure the first time of many!

Nathan Robert Meyer was born on 1-25-11, weighing 11 pounds, 21 1/2 inches long. We are thrilled that he is part of our family. We have so much love and respect for his birth parents and the selfless choice they made for Nathan.
