Six Months

August 2011

I can't believe that Nathan is six months old!! He is growing so quickly and is developing such a fun personality. At six months (well, technically, 6 1/2 months), his measurements continue to be off the charts - 24 pounds & 29 1/2 inches. He is getting around with little difficulty, army crawling all over the place. He loves Amy's toys, especially her Little People. Amy does fairly well sharing with him. Nathan has such a cute and contagious laugh that he gets the whole family smiling! We continue to be so thankful to have this little guy in our family. Words can't express the love we have for him as well as his birth parents.

Below are a few of Nathan's six-months pictures...as well as one or two of Amy!

Books

August 2011

Already, Nathan appears to enjoy books...at least nibbling on them! :) When we go to the library, Amy always makes sure that she picks some books out for Nathan. Nathan also has been checking out the books on the bottom of the coffee table. We'll have to wait and see if he loves books as much as Amy!

More Solids

July/August 2011

We continue to try new foods with Nathan. Some are hits. Some are definitely misses. Overall, though, Nathan is a good eater and has responded very well to the solids. Of course, it might be that he needs the solids since he is such a big baby. Either way, he is doing well. Some of the recent foods that we have tried....

Avocado...not a huge hit

Banana...a HUGE hit! Nathan loves his bananas!!

Sweet potatoes...started off a little rough, but now he LOVES them!

We also have tried peaches (didn't like at all!), pears (loves), and carrots (loves). We're gearing up to try more veggies during the next few weeks!!

By the way, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong in terms of the spacing...it, of course, is driving me crazy!!

Sunshine

July 2011

I feel so fortunate and lucky to have a little girl who brings sunshine into my life.

Drool!

July 2011

Drool is a constant in our household! Ever since Nathan began teething (at least a month ago), the drool has been a constant thing coming from his mouth. When I try to take some pictures, it seems like there is always drool...even when I don't initially see it. I took the following pictures and only later realized that I caught a few pictures of drool-in-action. There are other times when I constantly have a wet spot on my shoulder from carrying the little guy. But, how can I mind a few wet spots on my shoulders when I have this precious little guy to love on every day!! :)

Bumpbo Failure

July 2011

Nathan is growing so quickly!! He is able to do so much, though he still isn't able to sit up by himself. So, I thought a Bumpbo would help. It would basically help him stay upright, so he could play and see things on a different level...rather than always on his back or tummy. Well, the idea was a good one in concept...
But, unfortunately, his "little" legs were a bit too chunky for it!! So, we had to take it back...but not before I took a few pictures of him in it!!

First Solids

July 2011

We started Nathan on solids around the middle of July. We weren't sure how he would respond to the food, but we quickly discovered that there was no reason to worry! After his first look of "what is this???" he quickly caught onto to the concept of eating. Nathan loved grabbing the spoon, wanting to chew on it. By the end of the "meal" he was a mess but he seemed to enjoy it!

Siblings

July 2011

Since Nathan came home, Amy hasn't been too excited about holding him. She's been pretty unsure of him, though over time, she has certainly warmed up to him. This day, she was so excited to hold him. We aren't really sure where it came from, but we gladly got them together on the couch. I'm not sure if Nathan knew what was going on (some of his expressions are priceless!), but Amy loved it!!

We have TEETH!

June 2011

So, at the end of June, right before we left for vacation, I thought I saw something in Nathan's mouth. Yep, sure enough. It was a TOOTH!! Not even five months old and already a tooth?! A few days later, another tooth!! His front bottom two teeth came in within days of each other. So little, yet so cute!
