Fashion Show

June 2011

Lately, Amy has been enjoying having fashion shows at home. She gets out her "fancy" dresses and decides which dress each cuddly animal will wear. Of course, she also must wear a fancy dress. She would like for me to wear a fancy dress, but I don't think I have any dresses that are fancy enough for her fashion show! :) Sometimes, Amy will use her dress up clothes but more often she uses her own dresses and clothes. In fact, she has gotten to the point of saying that one side of her closet has dresses for her cuddly animals while the other side of her closet has clothes for her!! I typically view the closet as summer wear versus winter wear but that isn't as fun as having a closet full of clothes for your cuddly animals' fashion show!

A Few More Pictures

June 2011

A few more pictures from vacation that I forgot to include the in the previous posts...

Amy loved playing on the porch of the cabin. She did such a good job staying on the porch where I could still see her. She loves being outside!

Vacation - Part 3

June 2011

At the end of vacation, we had our typical family pictures, this time posing with the bear at our cabin. Amy loved this bear. She gave him several kisses throughout the week!!

Samantha is the flash of pink hiding behind Tim's legs!
One day, we drove through Cade's Cove, which was a beautiful, scenic drive through the national park. The views were incredible and we stopped a few times to take some pictures. Along the way, we saw turkeys and bears.

One day, we visited Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinburg. Amy was so excited to see the different kinds of fish and the different exhibits they had.

If you look closely, you can see Amy in the above picture. You can see her a little better in the picture below (thanks to Aunt Thuydung for holding her up!)

All in all, it was a great vacation with lots of memories made. Thanks Grandma & Granddad Murphy for a wonderful vacation!!

Vacation - Part 2

June 2011

One day during the week, Kurt, Amy & I went to check out some shops. Amy loves shopping, which concerns me a bit when I think of her teen years! :) She enjoyed checking out the different stores and discovering things that she needed. One store had so many black bears, which Amy loved! She posed with all of the different black bears.

We also found some life-size dolls with one looking like Amy. Amy enjoyed giving these dolls hugs and holding the one doll's hand!We went out to eat a few times throughout the week. You can see how Nathan spent our first dinner out!! He slept the entire time we were there!

Vacation - Part 1

June 2011

For our annual Murphy vacation, we traveled to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. We had a wonderful week with many highlights and memories from the week. We stayed in a "cabin in the woods" as Amy referred to it all week! Throughout the week, we did many fun & exciting things...well, as fun & exciting as you can with a 3 1/2 year old and 5 month old! :) We went to a little park area that had various amusement type rides. Amy was thrilled to ride the carousel as well as the train ride. We went back later in the week with Samantha and Amy also rode the swing (it goes in a circle). We weren't sure if Amy would enjoy this ride, but she did great on it...although she didn't smile much while she was actually riding on it!

Amy also loved playing in the pool. She has no fear in the water...which is a little scary for Mommy!! She loved jumping in the pool and swimming around with her floaties. Although we took swim attire for Nathan, we decided that it was too hot and sunny for him to be out in the sun and water (plus, we didn't have a float with a shade for him). Amy loved going to the pool with Samantha!

More to come...

ExerSaucer

June 5, 2011

We decided to get out the exersaucer to see if Nathan would enjoy playing in it. He has been growing like crazy and he wants to be up so he can look at different things. So, we decided to see if he would enjoy it. Of course, when we got it out, Amy was so excited to see her old exersaucer. I think she played with it more those first few days than Nathan did! She put all of her Little People on the bottom of the exersaucer as well as around the top. She then would put various stuffed animals in the exersaucer so they could enjoy spinning around in it! Nathan also seemed to enjoy it...once he was able to get in past the cuddly animals!

3-Month Pictures

April 27, 2011

I'm not sure how I forgot, but I never posted Nathan's three-month-old pictures. We had them taken at the end of April. Here are a few of our favorites...
